3D Coming to NFL Football

Are you ready for some 3D Football!

I recently installed 16 new 1080P HDTVs including three 70″ Sharp Aquos LED at a local sports bar when the owner commented “Well that outta do us for now … until 3D comes around”.  That’ll be a while won’t it.

Being from Canada the bar owner was referring to NHL Hockey in 3D.  While 3D content is growing every day and 3D cable channels are in the works, only the National Football League has come out with a statement regarding 3D broadcasts for Monday Night Football.

As part of it’s new $1.9 billion dollar deal with ESPN, Monday Night Football is slated to be broadcast in 3D by 2014 on the ESPN 3D network.

The NBA, MLB and NHL have yet to make any announcements with respect to 3D broadcasts of their games.
